Terms
Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Code 3 Tek, LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("Code 3 Tek", "we", "us"), the publisher of the Alpha Medic mobile app and this website. By downloading or using Alpha Medic you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The short version
- Alpha Medic is a reference and training tool. It does not replace your agency's protocols, your medical director, online medical control, or your own clinical judgment.
- Always follow your current local protocols. The app reproduces published regional protocols, and protocols change. Your agency's current version wins.
- Pro is a subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. It renews automatically until you cancel in your store account.
- Do not enter patient-identifying information anywhere in the app.
1. What Alpha Medic is, and what it is not
Alpha Medic is a clinical reference and education app for EMS professionals and students. It presents visual flowcharts, protocol documents, drug references, a dose calculator, hospital contact information, study tools, and AI features built from published EMS protocols for the region you select.
Alpha Medic is not medical advice and is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or direct the care of any patient. Every patient care decision is yours, made under your agency's protocols, your medical director's standing orders, online medical control, and your training, scope of practice, and judgment. If anything in the app differs from your agency's current protocols or from your medical director's direction, follow your agency and your medical director.
Check every dose. The dose calculator does arithmetic on values transcribed from your region's published protocols. Confirm the drug, the concentration you actually carry, the patient's weight, and the result before you give anything. A calculation error, a wrong weight, or a different concentration can harm a patient.
2. Accuracy and protocol changes
We transcribe clinical content from the published protocol documents of each region and review it before release, and every region's own protocol document is available inside the app so you can check what we show against the source. Even so, the content can contain errors or omissions, and protocols are revised by the agencies that publish them on their own schedule. We do not guarantee that the app reflects the most current version of any protocol, or your agency's local variations, optional programs, or approved formulary.
If you find an error, please tell us at support@alphamedic.ai, or use the "Protocols need updating? Let us know" link in the app.
3. AI features
Alpha Medic AI and Scenario AI generate answers with artificial intelligence, limited to your region's protocol content. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, even when it sounds confident. Treat it as a study and lookup aid, check it against the protocol it cites, and never rely on it alone for a patient care decision.
4. Your responsibilities
- No patient-identifying information. Do not type, dictate, or photograph names, dates of birth, addresses, record numbers, or anything else that could identify a patient. The app is not designed to hold protected health information, and Code 3 Tek is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate.
- Do not use the app while driving an emergency vehicle or any other vehicle.
- Use it lawfully and within your own certification and scope of practice.
- Do not misuse it. Do not copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the app's content in bulk, reverse engineer it, interfere with its services, or try to get around its subscription checks.
5. Subscriptions, the free trial, and refunds
Some features are free. Others require Alpha Medic Pro, a subscription offered monthly and annually at the prices shown in the app and in your store before you buy.
- Purchases go through your store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Apple or Google processes the payment, not us.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price and length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trial. When a free trial is offered, it lasts 7 days and requires a payment method. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription and you are charged. Each person gets one trial.
- Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
- Restore purchases. If you reinstall or change phones on the same store account, use "Restore purchases" in the app.
- Your records are yours. If your subscription ends, you can still read every record you entered, such as continuing-education hours and incident log entries.
We may change prices or what is included in Pro. A price change for an existing subscription follows your store's notice and consent rules.
6. Your data
Most of what you enter stays on your phone. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what leaves your device and who receives it, and Delete your data explains how to remove it. Because your records are stored on your device, deleting the app deletes them permanently, and we cannot recover them.
7. Ownership and content from others
The Alpha Medic app, its design, its visual flowcharts, and its software belong to Code 3 Tek. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own reference and study, under these terms.
Protocol documents and other material published by state EMS offices, regional councils, medical directors, and other organizations belong to their publishers. They are included so you can check our content against the source. Hospital names and contact numbers come from public sources and may change without notice.
Alpha Medic is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any state EMS office, regional council, hospital, the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, or any device manufacturer, unless the app says so expressly.
8. Third-party services
The app relies on services run by other companies, including Apple, Google, and the providers named in our Privacy Policy. Your use of the App Store or Google Play is also governed by their terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, Alpha Medic is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available offline at any particular moment.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Code 3 Tek and its owners, employees, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any patient outcome, arising from your use of or reliance on the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Alpha Medic in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Alpha Medic at any time by deleting it and cancelling any subscription in your store account. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and describe material changes in the app. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
14. Apple users
If you downloaded Alpha Medic from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and Code 3 Tek, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is not responsible for any claim relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
